Trek Around Europa

"Wanna travel to Europe?" The invite caught my attention. Why? Because I want to travel to Europe. And I want to learn more about the different EU languages such as French, Portuguese, Belgian, Czech, Italian, Austrian, Spanish and German.

This is actually the third installation of Lingo de Lingua.  The occasion was coordinated by the European Union Member States' Embassies together with the Delegation of the European Commission to the Philippines and academic institution such as Lyceum University, De la Salle- St. Benilde, Miriam College and Ateneo de Manila University as host partners.

Mr. Patrick Capili, a Spanish/Portuguese language instructor, gave the opening remarks. Another professor took the stage for a Q&A. Of course, students who came up with the right answers get to bring home a shirt!

The trivia didn't end there! Bloggers and students formed a group of three. I was paired with another blogger, Jen and Erika, who is an Ateneo student taking up Spanish! What luck!

We got 8 stations/ countries to visit and each task was timed. I was sure as hell not prepared for this trek around Europa because I was wearing my clogs at that time ; p We lost the race, sad to say, but we had a lot of fun learning as we travel around Europa! And next time I will come prepared lol

At the end of the affair, another professor announced a music video contest "Ang Aking Europa" ("My Europe") wherein cash prizes can be won. Deadline of submission of entries is on October 15, 2010. Contest guideline click here.
